My name is Chris Rogers. I'm a 28 year practitioner/teacher of southern Shaolin (Sil Lum) Kung Fu. A martial arts system that emphasizes strong stances, swift footwork, and powerful blocks and strikes.
My teachers have been students/disciples of Masters Gin Foon Mark, William Chung, Ark Yuey Wong, Share Lew, and Kam Yuen.
Receiving my black sash in 1991 from 'The House of Shaolin and Red Dragon School of Self Defense' in Stamford, CT, I teach the fundamentals of Ng Ga Kuen. (Five Families Kung Fu) A system that combines the five southern family styles of Choy Li Fut, Hung , Lau, & Mok Gar. DYNAMIC techniques so rooted in power, that one soon learns just how effective they can become!
A no-nonsense approach to instruction is my key to success. Understanding that time is valuable, I don't waste it with unnecessary formalities and attempting to teach flashy, complicated, impractical moves.
After just a few lessons, my students have a new appreciation for the terms, "continuity of movement", "fluidity", "core propulsion", "low center of gravity", "multi-directional" and "multi-DIMENSIONAL"!
Showing how simple and relatively effortless techniques can translate into sound, DEVASTATING, and real self defense moves is what I do best!

I teach traditional movement for practical application.
Techniques encourage coordination and proper body alignment with emphasis on core propulsion and fluidity.
The attention on stability, balance, and low center of gravity movement creates an intensity and focus that leads to a true mind-body connection.
